Sun Villas Remodel: A Bold Transformation in the Heart of Palm Springs

Palm Springs Home Renovation

This Palm Springs home renovation in the Sun Villas neighborhood is a perfect example of how layout, light, and modern design can transform a dated house into something unforgettable.

When our team at Palm Springs Home Services first walked into this 1995-built house in the Sun Villas neighborhood, we saw a space that had potential—but little personality. Generic finishes, awkward flow, and decades of outdated remodels had stripped the home of any architectural charm. Today, that same property stands as a vibrant, midcentury-inspired home that reflects both modern living and the soul of Palm Springs design.

This wasn’t just a facelift. This was a whole home remodel—reimagined from the ground up!

A Kitchen Designed for Living—and Entertaining

The kitchen was the first major challenge. It lacked flow and connection to the rest of the home. We completely redesigned the floor plan to improve traffic patterns and create a seamless connection between kitchen, dining, and living spaces.

We installed a large center island for gathering and prep, added sleek walnut cabinetry, and paired it with striking blue geometric tile for a backsplash that feels both bold and timeless. We even transformed the former breakfast nook into a custom bar area, complete with a pass-through window to the pool—perfect for entertaining in true Coachella Valley style.

New Guest Suite: A Multigenerational Oasis

One of the biggest transformations in this project was converting a formal sitting/dining room into a fully self-contained guest suite.

The new space includes a bedroom, lounge area, and a newly added ensuite bathroom, complete with a custom vanity, walk-in shower with vertical teal tile, and a brand-new sewer line installation to make the bath fully functional. The suite has direct access to the pool and outdoor area, making it ideal for guests, renters, or multigenerational living.

Natural Light + Desert Views

Palm Springs homes deserve to showcase their surroundings. We added large-format windows and dual sliding glass doors throughout the living room, guest suite, and kitchen—flooding the home with natural light and framing picturesque mountain views. This not only increased curb appeal and property value, it created a brighter, more livable space that celebrates indoor-outdoor living.

Details Matter: Design with a Purpose

Every decision in this home was made with both form and function in mind.

  • We rebuilt and retiled the fireplace with a matte black finish and a warm floating mantel.

  • The hall bathroom got all-new cabinetry, dual sinks, mirrors, lighting, and tile work.

  • The primary bath features vivid tile choices, a floating walnut vanity, and a curbless walk-in shower lit by clerestory windows.

From layout to lighting, this remodel reflects thoughtful craftsmanship and bold, cohesive style. It’s one of our favorite Palm Springs home renovation projects to date.
